Reception Party for International Students 2016

The International Office is pleased to organize the annual Reception Party for International Students 2016, hosted by the University President.

The party was attended by a total of 275 people. The bulk of the attendees were the international students of course, some with their families. The rest were made up of university staff members, Japanese students who assisted international students as tutors, public organizations dealing with international affairs, and local community organizations that support international students in the daily lives.

The role of the Master of Ceremonies were played by students from Malaysia and Vietnam. On behalf of all international students, a student from China made a 'thank you' speech to the university and the organizations for their understanding and support.

There was much laughter and chattering, and the food, as usual, disappeared soon after they were laid on the table.

As in previous years, we had performances from students. This time, students from China, Vietnam, and Thailand presented their respective traditional dances, which brought much delight to the audience.

We were lucky to see the closing of the party without any glitch, and I hope the students were sufficiently 'energized' by the party so as to continue studying hard again. (Lrong)
