Joint closing ceremony for Sanuki Program, Japanese Studies Program

A joint closing ceremony was held for the six students who successfully completed their courses in the Sanuki Program, the Japanese Studies Program, and the Japanese Language Preparatory Program.
For the first time, we had the students presented their work which focused on a specific topic related to either Kagawa or Japan. This year, the topics were on the prefecture symbols, international students at KU, economic impact of udon, marriages in Japan, Japan towards Olympics 2020, and experiences of living in Kagawa.
The students did a very impressive job with their presentations. We are once again, indebted to the Bushozan International Association for providing the yukata for the students.

Class of 2016 on higher education in the global arena

Had the good fortune and pleasure of teaching a class for the Spring 2016 Semester.
This was attended by a bunch of international and Japanese students.
The topic was on higher education in the global arena.
Personally, I think it would be nice if more such classes can be held in our university.
This will certainly promote more robust mingling among the international and Japanese students.
I hope the students enjoyed the class as much as I did.

Nagashi Somen Event at International Residence

Conducted the 'Nagashi Somen' event at International Residence on 16th July 2016.
The idea is to provide a chance for the local neighborhood residents and the international students to get to know one another better.
There were lots to eat, and I think the students and the local residents, particularly the kids, had a good time.
We hope to continue with this event in the future.
